This will be a largely non-political post. Sorry about wasting your time. I'll get to the political stuff in a bit, but first let me tell you the whole story about this diary.
I run a weblog and I have been bouncing from server to server. First, Blogspot, then Xanga, and now, finally, Upsaid. Upsaid is a great service. However, there is one minor problem. Namely, that until my Premium upgrade goes through, I can only post up to three posts a day. Considering that I have to send the money to Belgium and I won't be able to mail anything until Tuesday, it's going to be awhile.
At first, I thought I'd use Blogger for my spillover posts, despite the fact that I don't like it. Then I remembered this feature, and I thought, why the hell not?
Oh, one last thing, I may as well plug my weblog. Begin shameless plug here
My nominal reason is that I was shocked to find that a DKos poster mentioned Christopher Hitchens in a favorable light. Though these posters are undoubtedly a minority, (and the poster who made the BYOB crack: priceless), and I apologize to the 98% of DKos posters who already know this, but Christopher Hitchens is a hack without parallel. The man has no shame. I'll even go so far as to say that even neo-conservative right-wingers shouldn't put any import into what comes out of his mouth. Quite simply, the man changes his opinions on things quicker than he changes his underwear. Check out his archives at Slate and see how many times his talking points run into each other. Anyway, being an amateur Hitchens-watcher, I have put quite a bit of effort into a few posts about him. Check here for a dissection of his latest article and here for an overview of Hitch's career. They are both quite long, however, and I do confess to the usage of some salty language, so if you are by chance offended by that you may not want to click on those links. End of shameless plug
As for here, I'll try to keep my DKos posts at a "PG" level in order not to needlessly offend someone, even though when talking about some right-wingers, it is a difficult task. I'll also have a few posts cross-posted from my blog because not doing so will make this diary seem to start abruptly.
Thanks for enduring this admittedly pointless posting.
